// frequently asked

Questions about pricing.

Ingest, retention, plan changes, and contract terms.

What counts toward the ingest quota?

Compressed payload size after OTLP receive. Logs, traces, and metrics all draw from the same monthly bucket. Dropped or filtered data via Data Shaper does not count. The quota measures what you ingest, not what is stored: purging data or letting it expire through retention does not free up quota, and the counter resets at the start of each billing month.

What happens if I exceed my plan?

We do not silently drop data. You receive an email at 80% and 100% of your plan's ingest. After that, ingest is throttled until the next billing cycle or you upgrade.

Do you support OTLP HTTP and gRPC?

Yes, both. Use whichever your collector or SDK is configured for. HTTP/JSON is simpler to debug; gRPC is more efficient for high-volume telemetry.

How does retention work?

Each plan sets a fixed retention window (7, 30, or 60 days). Data older than the window is permanently deleted. Exports let you archive specific results before they expire.

Can I change plans mid-month?

Yes. Upgrading is immediate and prorated. Downgrading takes effect at the next billing cycle so you do not lose access to data you have already ingested.

Is there a contract or annual commitment?

No. Solo and Team are month-to-month and cancel anytime from the workspace. There is no minimum term and no per-seat lock-in.
